Larry R. Wiseman of Robinson, IL, 91, died at 5:27 P.M. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born in Robinson on November 13, 1934 to Ray F. and Glyn (Berry) Wiseman.
Larry married Anne Wesner on September 1, 1956 in Robinson and she survives. Also surviving are his son Thomas Ray (Amanda) Wiseman of St. Joseph, IL and daughter Carol Marie (Paul) Kanelos of Bethany, IL and Chicago, IL, by grandchildren Nathan J. (Chloe) Scott of Champaign, IL, Emily Marie Scott of Chicago, and Sarah Elizabeth Wiseman of St. Joseph, by brothers Gary A. (Betty) Wiseman of Savoy, IL and David B. (Sandy) Wiseman of Carmel, IN, sister-in-law Nancy Wesner of Cabot, AR, brother-in-law Earl M. (Julie) Wesner of Schaumburg, IL, and step-sister Pat Schofield of Newton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Marcia Brock of Palestine, IL and brother-in-law Joseph W. Wesner.
Larry was raised in Robinson and was a graduate of Robinson High School in 1953. He was an Eagle Scout and a graduate of the University of Illinois in 1958. He served as a 1st lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Washington, D.C., by the Chicago Motor Club in Chicago and by the Hawkeye Security Insurance Company in Vincennes, IN prior to his retirement from the Woodworth Insurance Agency in Robinson in 1999.
Larry was a life member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association and a life member of the Robinson Elks. He was a member of the American Legion and a past president of the Robinson Kiwanis Club. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the University of Illinois sports teams. His interests included genealogy and history, especially of the Civil War and World War II.
A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Trey Reid officiating. Interment with military graveside rites will immediately follow at the Robinson New Cemetery.
