Robinson Walmart Remains Closed as Cleanup Continues

(Robinson) — The Robinson Walmart may remain closed through the weekend. According to a post on their Facebook page, the store will remain closed “until further notice.” The Robinson Fire Protection District responded to the Tuesday fire, and in their press release, Chief, Riley Pearce, said, “Unfortunately, a large amount of smoke was produced, which filled the majority of the store.” He says although the fire was contained to a small area, the building “suffered smoke damage throughout the structure.” Pearce also praised Walmart employees and a bystander for utilizing fire extinguishers prior to the fire department’s arrival, which significantly slowed the spread of fire. He says Walmart associates were fantastic with their prompt evacuation of customers and employees.
