“Heat Advisory” Issued for Today

(Undated) — Hot and humid weather is forecast for today. According to this morning’s “Hazardous Weather Outlook” from the National Weather Service, heat indices of 100 to 109 degrees are expected, prompting a “Heat Advisory” for this afternoon. The Advisory will go into effect at noon today and remain in effect until 7 p.m. They say high heat and humidity are also forecast for Tuesday, and extended exposure could result in heat-related illness. The National Weather Service says periods of thunderstorms are forecast this week with the potential for severe weather and heavy rain across parts of central Illinois through midweek.
