By Tony Collins Aug 12, 2026 | 6:39 AM

(Undated) — The extreme heat continues for the listening area, and as a result, local authorities have announced several “Cooling Centers” throughout Crawford County. According to authorities, these Centers are air-conditioned buildings intended to provide residents with a safe place to temporarily find relief from dangerous temperatures during periods of extreme heat and humidity. The locations include the Robinson Civic Center, Oblong Municipal Building, Hutsonville Community Center, Heritage Hall in Palestine, the Flat Rock Fire Department, and First Missionary Baptist Church. Locations are typically available during “normal business hours.” However, if you need a cooling center outside business hours, contact Crawford County Dispatch for assistance. For more details and additional contact information, find the CCEMA on Facebook.
