Dangerously Hot Weather Forecast for the Weekend

(Undated) — A “Heat Advisory” will remain in effect through the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, Illinois is forecast to see heat index values pushing up near 110 through the weekend. They remind the public that it is important to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, avoid the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. They say to reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. The “Heat Advisory” will remain in effect until 8 p.m. Sunday.
