Emergency Preparedness Evacuation Drills Continue at Marathon

(Robinson) — You may have seen and heard some “extra activity” around Marathon recently. The Marathon Petroleum Robinson Refinery will be conducting “emergency preparedness evacuation drills” through August. According to Marathon, drills will be held each Wednesday in August. Drills will be held at 5:30 p.m. on August 26th. On August 19th, drills will be held at 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. They say that during these drills, the refinery and community warning systems will be activated, and refinery neighbors may see and hear extra activity around the refinery. Announcements accompanying these exercises will clearly state, “This is a drill.”
