RPD Accepting Applications

(Undated) — The Robinson Police Department is hiring. They are once again accepting applications for “entry-level” officers and those seeking a lateral transfer. RPD Chief, Eric Schmidt, says qualified entry-level applicants will be contacted via email and are required to attend physical and written testing on Saturday, October 17th. Schmidt says applicants should familiarize themselves with the physical testing by visiting ptb.illinois.gov. Schmidt says lateral applicants will not be subject to testing and will be notified of their interview date/time via email. He also says that lateral applications will only be shared with the Chief of Police and three Police Commissioners until they are considered for an interview. A lateral applicant’s references and employers will not be contacted without prior authorization from the applicant, and then only when considered for a position.
