“Heat Advisory” Continues for the Area

(Undated) — A “Heat Advisory” remains in effect for the area. According to this morning’s “Hazardous Weather Outlook” from the National Weather Service, heat and humidity will continue across central and southeast Illinois Tuesday through Thursday, with heat index values climbing to around 100 to 105 degrees each day. Triple-digit heat indices may linger into parts of central Illinois Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will only cool into the mid-70s overnight, allowing little if any relief from the prolonged period of heat setting up over the region.
