Dangerously Hot Weather Forecast for the Labor Day Weekend

(Undated) — Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 108 remain in our forecast. According to this morning’s Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service, heat and humidity will continue across most of central and southeast Illinois through today and south of a Rushville-to-Robinson line Saturday. They say heat index values will climb to around 105 degrees both days. The public is reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
