(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded remains well above the $4 mark heading into the weekend. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $4.30 a gallon, seventeen cents higher than last week. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $4.50 a gallon, eighteen cents higher than a week ago. Indiana continues to be the “low price leader” with a statewide average of $3.59 a gallon, fourteen cents higher than last week. California has the highest prices in the nation, with a statewide average of $5.92 a gallon.
