Gas Prices Remain High Nationwide

(Undated) — While the price at the pump has fallen slightly, it remains at record-high levels for this time of year. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $4.44 a gallon, down four cents from Friday. That is $1.29 higher than a year ago. Here in the “Land of Lincoln,” the statewide average is $4.91 a gallon, six cents higher than Friday. That is $1.56 higher than this time last year. Across the Wabash in Indiana, the statewide average is $4.03 a gallon, three cents higher than Friday. That marks a $1 increase from a year ago. Texas has the lowest price at the pump, with a statewide average of $3.94 a gallon. California has the highest prices in the nation, with a statewide average of $6.15 a gallon.
