ISP Highlights “Child Passenger Safety Week”

(Undated) — The Illinois State Police reminds parents and caregivers that properly securing children in the appropriate car seat, booster seat, or seat belt is one of the most important steps they can take to protect a child in a vehicle. Illinois recognizes the week of September 21st-27th as “Child Passenger Safety Week.” They say properly securing children begins with choosing the correct restraint for their age and size. They say children should remain in each stage until they reach the height or weight limits established by the car seat manufacturer. For more information and help properly installing your child’s safety seat, contact the Crawford County Health Department. The CCHD will host a “Car Seat Safety Event” this Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Washington Elementary School in Robinson.
