Oblong Public Works Reminds Customers About Billing Change

(Oblong) — The Village of Oblong is reminding Oblong Public Works customers about some upcoming changes. According to a social media post, “past due” account holders previously received a mail notice reminding them the bill was overdue, followed by a second reminder in the form of a “door notification” placed at the home before shutoff. However, beginning tomorrow, for the September water usage billing, the “past due” letter will be the only late payment reminder that will be sent. The post also reminded customers to watch for possible water leaks, standing water, or running water and report them to Oblong Public Works ASAP. The Village reminds customers that leaking/dripping faucets, shower heads, outside spigots, or even running toilets can use far more water than you think.
