’54 Oblong Donations Tops $100,000

(Undated) — Members of the ’54 Oblong Foundation awarded $25,000 in grants during last night’s meeting. According to Dave Hasty, the Oblong Chamber of Commerce will receive $20,000 to replace the aging LED sign at the entrance of Oblong Park with a new, larger LED sign with more advanced features. The Oblong Township Cemetery Board will use their $5,000 grant to enhance the new parking lot located near the Pavilion and Columbarium with parking bumpers, parking space borders, and directional signage. Hasty says with these latest grants, ’54 Oblong members have now invested just over $100,000 in the village. He says, “It truly has been our pleasure.”
